Niamh O'Donovan
Pre Accredited Psychotherapist
Niamh has just completed a MSc in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy with the Institute of Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (IICP). She is a member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). She also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in School Guidance Counselling and has extensive experience in providing emotional and psychological support to adolescents and young adults.
Niamh is committed to continuous professional development and will be commencing a Diploma in Integrative Adolescent Psychotherapy this year.
Niamh’s core training approach is Pluralistic. This therapeutic approach is based on the belief that people who come for therapy are experts on their own lives (even if they don't feel like they are!), who have lots of potentially good ideas about how to deal with their problems. One of Niamh’s roles is to help you to make the best use of your own experience and understanding.
Central to her therapeutic approach is the therapeutic relationship where she will work closely with the client to find the therapeutic approach that best meets their needs. She will do this by providing an inclusive, welcoming, non-judgemental safe space for clients to explore the challenges they can encounter in their lives.
