Liz Hutton is a highly experienced, fully accredited Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapist. Throughout her professional career, she has developed considerable clinical experience, complemented by extensive specialist training in trauma, complex trauma, sexual abuse & a broad range of psychological & emotional difficulties.

A particular area of Liz's professional expertise is trauma - informed psychotherapy. She has undertaken extensive additional training with internationally recognised trauma specialists, including Babette Rothschild, Kathy Steele & Christiane Sanderson, whose work has made significant contributions to the understanding & treatment of psychological trauma.

Further strengthening her expertise in this area, Liz has completed One in Four's inaugural Certificate in Working with Complex Trauma & Sexual Abuse. She is also an affiliate psychotherapist with Towards Healing, an organisation providing therapeutic support to survivors of clerical & institutional abuse.

Liz's therapeutic approach is informed by her extensive professional development, including additional training in Body Psychotherapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Therapeutic Use of Mindfulness. She has also pursued further training across a wide range of areas, including depression, autism, eating disorders, borderline personality disorder, bereavement and parental loss, domestic abuse and art therapy.

This breadth of training enables Liz to draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches, adapting her work thoughtfully to the individual needs, experiences and circumstances of each client.

Beyond her clinical practice, Liz has made a significant contribution to the psychotherapy profession itself. She is a former member of the Governing Body of the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP), continues to serve on professional committees and currently represents the South East region. Through this involvement, she contributes to the ongoing development of professional practice, ethical standards and the wider psychotherapy community.

Liz is a fully accredited member of IAHIP and a registrant of the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP). She works in accordance with the ethical standards of her professional bodies, engages in regular clinical supervision and maintains a strong commitment to continuing professional development.

At the heart of Liz's work is a deep respect for the individuality of every person she meets. She believes that each person has the capacity for growth, healing and meaningful change, and that the therapeutic relationship should provide the safety, understanding and support needed for that process to unfold.

Her approach is compassionate, non-judgemental and grounded in professional experience. She recognises that no two people are the same and works collaboratively with each client, respecting their individual needs and pace.

Liz brings together extensive clinical knowledge, specialist trauma training and a thoughtful, person-centred approach, offering clients a safe and supportive therapeutic environment in which to explore their experiences and work towards positive change.
