Educational Testing & Neuro Divergent Screenings

School Kids

At Glosna House, we understand that looking into neuro-divergent screening services for yourself or your child can feel like a big step, and sometimes an overwhelming one. That’s why every screening journey at Glosna House begins with a warm, no-obligation introductory phone call with Kamila Jelinkova, who carries out our screening services.

This initial conversation is an opportunity to ask questions and explore whether screening is the right path for you or your child before booking or paying for anything. In some cases, Kamila may recommend moving forward with one screening or a combination of screenings. In other cases, she may gently guide you toward a different type of support if she feels screening is not the most appropriate option at this time.

Our priority is always to ensure that families & individuals feel supported, informed & guided toward the right service - never to encourage unnecessary appointments or expense. If screening is the right fit, Kamila will then guide you through the next steps of the booking process with clarity and care.

Understanding how you or your child think, feel & learn starts here.

At Glosna House we know how overwhelming it can be when you suspect there might be something more going on - whether you’re a parent looking for clarity for your child, or an adult seeking answers for yourself.

Whether you’ve noticed ongoing challenges with attention, organisation, emotional regulation, sensory sensitivities or social interaction - or someone you trust has raised concerns - you are in the right place.

We’re excited to also offer our ADHD & neuro divergent screenings for adults, as well as children and teens. Many adults come to realise that traits they’ve lived with for years may reflect neuro divergent patterns. Our screening gives you a sensitive, informed way to explore this - in a safe and respectful environment.

Educational testing encompasses a range of psychometric assessments used to evaluate academic performance and developmental needs which may impact such performance and/or influence student’s/person’s overall behaviour.

Two key types of educational testing currently offered by Glosna House include:

1) Ability and Attainment Tests

2) Neurodevelopmental Screenings (as opposed to diagnostic).

  • Ability and Attainment Tests are used to assess the students’ current academic knowledge, their strengths and their weaknesses which is very helpful in predicting their future academic performance, guiding suitable interventions if necessary. These tests also support informed decision-making around their subject choices, senior cycle programmes, and career planning, particularly for students uncertain about pursuing further education or a specific career path.

  • Neurodevelopmental Screening Tests are used to identify potential developmental disorders—such as Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or Dyslexia—affecting learning and/or behaviour(s). While not diagnostic, these screening tests offer a quicker, more affordable way to identifying barriers to learning, recommending suitable interventions and determining whether formal diagnostic assessment is necessary.

Unsure if you need Neurodevelopmental Screening or Diagnostic Assessment?

Screening Assessment is sufficient when:

  • You are exploring symptoms for the first time and want to know if further/formal diagnostic assessment is needed.

  • You need a preliminary evaluation to help guide support or intervention (e.g., in school or therapy).

  • You are looking for a quicker, lower-cost, and less invasive way to flag potential neurodevelopmental traits.

  • You need evidence to access learning supports, such as Reasonable Accommodations (e.g., under the RACE scheme in Irish schools).

Diagnostic Assessment is important when (please note diagnostic assessments are not offered by Glosna House):

  • A formal diagnosis is needed for medical, legal, or sometimes high needs educational documentation.

  • You are seeking medication or treatment from a psychiatrist or GP — most require a formal diagnosis before prescribing.

  • There is a complex clinical picture (e.g., extreme or overlapping symptoms with anxiety, trauma, etc.)

  • You are applying for disability accommodations in non-educational institutions, which often require a full diagnostic report.

  • Your child needs long-term educational supports that require a psychologist’s or psychiatrist’s diagnosis.

Kamila Jelinkova M.Ps.S.I., MA, BA, APPI, ICP, PSI, BPS (RQTU)

Kamila Jelinkova is a fully accredited member of the Association for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in Ireland (APPI), the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP), and the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI). She holds a PSI-recognised BA (Hons) in Psychology (QQI Level 8) and a MA in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (QQI Level 9). In addition, Kamila has completed a Specific Modality Training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, a specialised post-master’s programme delivered by University College Dublin (UCD) in collaboration with St. Vincent’s University Hospital.

Kamila has also undertaken training in Solution-Focused Therapy, Couples Counselling, and Educational Psychometric Testing, which led to her registration with the British Psychological Society’s (BPS) Register of Qualifications in Test Use (RQTU).

Her clinical experience spans a wide range of areas, including perinatal mental health, chronic illness, interpersonal and relational difficulties, suicidality, bereavement, depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and intercultural issues. She has also worked with clients diagnosed with bipolar disorder, Autism Spectrum Conditions (including Asperger’s Syndrome), ADHD, and other complex mental health conditions. Kamila has published academic work relating to some of these areas.

She has a particular interest in female-specific issues, such as the psychological challenges of motherhood, the pre- and postnatal period, birth trauma, sexual identity, female health, and domestic violence. Her commitment to these areas is reflected in her volunteer work with organisations including the SAOL Project.

To support her ongoing professional development, Kamila regularly attends clinical workshops, seminars, and supervision with a senior psychoanalyst. She offers both short- and long-term psychotherapy in English and Czech.

Kamila’s practice is grounded in psychoanalytic theory, which emphasises the significance of unconscious processes and the transformative power of language. She views the human subject as fundamentally a speaking being, with speech lying at the core of personal identity. Through attentive listening and thoughtful interpretation, Kamila believes that therapy can facilitate meaningful and lasting change.

Understanding that beginning therapy can feel daunting, Kamila aims to create a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and valued throughout their journey of self-exploration and transformation.
