Hormones are crucial to fertility and health right throughout your life. They control menstrual cycles, your responses to stimuli, control growth, sleep cycles, energy levels among other things. For various reasons our bodies can start producing too much or too little of any hormone which can have negative effects on both our general health and our fertility health. Reflexology can help by encouraging relaxation which enables balance and also by having a direct effect on hormonal glands, which encourages a return to balance.
1 Hour Session €50
During pregnancy, reflexology has been shown to be a great help at easing the nasty niggles that mums-to-be suffer. It’s believed to help balance the hormonal and emotional rollercoaster that pregnancy creates and can ease anxiety symptoms. Your journey through pregnancy and post-natal is a time of major changes to your hormone balance. Different hormones are needed for every stage of conception, pregnancy, breast-feeding and re-storing equilibrium. Reflexology can help you adapt to these changes quickly thus reducing unpleasant mood swings or physical discomfort.
1 Hour Session €50
New arrivals can also benefit from reflexology. Short, gentle sessions can help to soothe and settle upset tots. Softly stroking the feet helps to relax them and gentle pressure while breastfeeding can help the baby to digest effectively. Babies’ feet have undeveloped arches, and their skin and bones are usually fairly soft making reflexology an effective and fast modality for babies. By applying gentle pressure to congested areas in the feet, blockages can be released to restore the flow of energy to the whole body.

Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema (or swelling). It's also a wonderful opportunity to relax the mind & body and connect with baby in a holistic loving way.

Babies are especially responsive to reflexology. Many mothers will instinctively rub their children’s feet and hands when their child is cranky, crying, or uncomfortable. Reflexology works very well for most babies.
Reflexology is effective and safe, it is based on the principle that reflex points found on the feet and hands correspond to specific organs, muscles, bones and body systems.
Babies’ feet have undeveloped arches, and their skin and bones are usually fairly soft making reflexology an effective and fast modality for babies. By applying gentle pressure to congested areas in the feet, blockages can be released to restore the flow of energy to the whole body.
Results for babies are often experienced immediately and can soothe a cranky baby or help to relieve tummy pains or constipation.
Reflexology with children can begin at birth and can be used as a valuable tool for parents to dissipate their children’s stresses in a nurturing way.

Postpartum depression (PPD) is a type of depression that affects some women after giving birth. Symptoms include sadness, changes in sleeping and eating patterns, low energy, anxiety, and irritability. Typically, the condition develops within 4 to 6 weeks after giving birth, but it can sometimes take several months to appear.
It is not known why PPD occurs. However, depression is not a sign that
you do not love your new arrival, as some mothers fear. It is a psychological
disorder that can be effectively treated with the help of support groups,
counselling, and sometimes medication. This type of depression does not only
affect mothers. One study found that around 10 percent of new fathers
experience postpartum or prenatal depression. The highest rates can be found 3
to 6 months after childbirth.
